3 Fall Recipe Staples to Try this Season

‘Tis the season for all things sugar and spice! In this blog, we’re setting you up with three fall-themed recipes that are sure to be staple hits for the next few months.
To kick off this full course offering of delectable recipes, a beverage must be in-hand before exploring the options for food. Up first is this yummy punch––perfect for an ordinary fall weekday or a highly-anticipated holiday. It combines all of the noteworthy fall flavors and aromas we wait all year for.
Pumpkin Head Punch
8 servings | Total time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
- ⅓ cup water
- ⅓ cup honey
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 inch freshly sliced ginger
- ½ cup pumpkin puree or pumpkin butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups vodka
- ¾ cup orange juice
- ¾ cup lemon juice
- 3-4 dashes bitters (or sparkling water) for topping
- 2-3 cans/bottles ginger beer (or sparkling water) for topping
- Apple slices, orange slices, and pomegranate arils for the punch bowl
Instructions:
- To make the spiced honey syrup. In a medium pot, bring the cup water, the honey, cinnamon, and ginger to a boil over high heat. Boil 2-3 minutes, then remove from the heat. Stir in the pumpkin and vanilla. Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a glass jar. Let cool.
- In a large pitcher, combine the vodka, orange juice, lemon juice, pumpkin syrup, and bitters. Chill until ready to serve.
- When ready to serve, add ice, ginger beer, pomegranate arils, and apple slices. Pour punch into glasses.

Slammin’ist Stuffed Peppers
4-6 servings | Total time: 50 minutes
Ingredients:
- 4-6 large bell peppers, various colors
- 1 cup mushrooms, chopped
- 1 cup zucchini, sliced and quartered
- ¼ tsp basil, dried
- 2 cup sharp white cheese, sliced and cut into pieces (or shredded)
- 1 lb ground beef
- ½ cup onion, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 15-oz can tomato sauce
- Fresh basil leaves
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Cut off the top ½ inch of each bell pepper and keep the tops. Remove seeds and membranes from peppers. Remove stems from tops if desired. Wash well.
- Place prepared peppers in a large saucepan or stockpot with enough water to cover and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil and cook 5 minutes. Drain and set peppers aside.
- To save time, while peppers are boiling, using a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium-high heat and drain off fat. Add mushrooms, zucchini, onion, garlic, salt and basil to the ground beef. Cook until vegetables are tender, stirring often. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Stir in rice and 1 1/2 cups of cheese.
- Place peppers in a shallow baking dish. Lightly stuff each pepper with filling. Spoon tomato sauce over the peppers. Cover and bake 30 minutes.
- Remove from oven and uncover. Add remaining 1/2 cup of cheese to each of the peppers and bake another 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
Of course, it would be a crime to conclude this article without a dessert option. Spiced carrot cake, anyone? This sweet treat was a family favorite from grandma’s cozy country kitchen.
Carrot Bundt Cake
16 servings | Total time: 1.5 hr +
Ingredients:
- 2 cup sugar
- 1 ½ cup canola oil
- 4 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3 cup shredded carrots (about 6 medium)
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Frosting:
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 1 ¼ cup butter, softened
- 3 cup confectioners' sugar
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour a 10-in. fluted tube pan.
- Beat first 4 ingredients until well blended. Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; gradually beat into sugar mixture. Stir in carrots and walnuts.
- Transfer to prepared pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 50-60 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack; cool completely.
- For frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar. Spread over cake.
